Blenheim Park is directly east of Forest Hill and Calvary Cemetery in the Town Fork Creek watershed near the intersection of E. Gregory Boulevard and The Paseo in Kansas City, MO. Part of the Kansas City Smart Sewer program, this project is designed to improve the community’s stormwater and wastewater system and reduce the volume of combined sewer overflows. This project helps manage stormwater by capturing and utilizing rainwater, improve pedestrian connectivity to the park, and enhance lighting. This project replaced inlets connected to the combined sewer system along 68th Terrace, 69th Street, 69th Terrace, and 70th Street with an overland flow system that directs water to four bioretention cells within Blenheim Park. The scope also included extending the park’s ADA-compliant trail system, adding new trail lighting, replacing a water main, and planting trees to enhance the area.
